IP

I've been really thinking about my IP, and I haven't quite decided what to di. I've narrowed it down to a few ideas.
First, I might write a YA novel about a princess who has to save her prince. She wouldn't act like a man, either; she'd be wearing a full blown dress/makeup/heels while fighting the the bad guys. Absolutely no compromises. This princess would be an awesome heroine.
Second, I'm thinking about a dystopian novel. It's kind of complicated, but if the society doesn't like you, they kill you off when you turn seventeen. It'd be really dark, and I have to think about if I really wanted to "go there."
Lastly, I've considered a book about bears. I don't know if that's cool or not. Think about them living in rustic log cabins, fishing, and having lovvve problems. Who doesn't love a good book about teenage human-like bears?
Okay. So the only bear exposure I've had is Bernstein (I'm not sure how to spell it), but those were awesome when I was four!
Obviously, I'm still deciding, but I'll know when I get back. This is a big deal to me.
ANNNDDD.
I watched the movie Twilight, and Edward was still creepy. BUT, I SAW Breaking Dawn (no spoilers because that's rude), and it BLEW MY MIND! I really like the movies, even if I don't like the books. I'll never read Breaking Dawn, but I'm down for seeing the movie again.
Home is great! I'm so happy to be here. Best place in the world.
Well. That's all folks.
Can I say that, or is it copyrighted? Hmmm...

Twilight is... finished! It took me long enough, as you can see if you scroll down to my other posts. After a complete read of the novel, I can safely say Jacob is the cooler monster, if that's what you want to call him. I didn't think of either Edward or Jacob as monsters.
This week in my creative writing class, I wrote a story that allowed me to experiment with unfamiliar elements. I'm not sure how I like it, but I'm eager to hear what my class has to say. I want to find out what worked, what didn't, and what I can improve on. Basically, I pushed way past my comfort zone, and I hope the exercise will help me grow.
IN OTHER NEWS:
I'm going home for Thanksgiving on Thursday! After class, I'm rushing to my apartment to catch an airport shuttle! I did the math, and I'll be totally fine missing a few days of class, so I'm going for it. I never skip class intentionally, as in I NEVER skip class, so this isn't a big deal. Pennsylvania, here I come!
I was supposed to leave on Monday (the 21st), and come back to school on the 28th. But a Friday class was canceled, and I realized it was smarter to leave THIS Thursday and come back Sunday before classes. I miss the same amount of school, AND my break is two days longer. I just found out yesterday night it was going to work. How great is life?
Not 100%.
The problem? I have SO much schoolwork to do now. I thought I had a few days, but I DON'T. But after the whirlwind of the next few days, I get to party in Pennsylvania with a dead turkey!
I'm excited to read CROSSED! I peeked at the first page, and I can't wait. On Thursday, that book's getting a dent knocked into it! BAM!
That's all I have to say this week. Peace.

TEAM JACOB!

A guy reading Twilight? Hmm... Let me just tell you the ONE thing that bothers me.
Edward creeps me out.
I haven't finished Twilight, but I'm scared of Edward. He's nice, but super creepy (In my case, I wouldn't want a girl hanging out in my bedroom while I slept, no matter how hot she was)... Mike seems normal (maybe he annoys Bella, but he doesn't have FANGS and want to KILL her), but JACOB seems like the coolest guy EVER. As in, if the three of them were real, he'd be the one I'd want to hang out with on the weekend.
The book isn't my favorite thing in the world, but it's interesting. At this point, it's WAY too lovey dovey for me, but I'm getting over it. I'm ready to see some Vampire action!
I know it's coming soon. I've seen the movies.
Anyway.
I guess if I HAD to pick a "team," it'd be team Jacob. No questions asked. Jacob's not in this book a lot, so I'm basing my opinion on the movies more than anything.
BUT I saw the trailer for Breaking Dawn, and Kristin Steward was NOT having a baby with Jacob.
Then again, Jacob would have still been in high school. She's 18ish in Breaking Dawn, and Jacob's two years younger, right? I don't know. I'll see the movie.
In other news:
I bought Crossed, but I've only read the first page. I decided it'll be my airport book for Thanksgiving, which gives me another reason to look forward to the holidays.
Writing is good. Still waiting for query responses... it's a fun life.
IT'S OFFICIAL! I'm working at Disney World... again. I can't tell you what I did last year, but I'll be working merchandiser this summer. So. A LOT different than last time, but I'm still excited about it!
That's all I feel the need to say this week.

Twilight.
I thought I'd be finished by now, but I'm not. Page 56 is a nice start, but not a even close to the end.
The book is not as girly as I thought, but Edward just introduced himself to Bella. She keeps talking about how hot Edward is, and it makes me feel awkward. On the bright side, I know what's going on because I saw the movies :-)
Next week, I'll finish the book. I promise!
Maybe.
ANYWAY
In my creative writing class, I'm trying to develop a strong female voice. I feel like it's one of my weakness, but and writing through a girl makes me feel awkward. Even if I don't write a story through a first person female, I want to understand the female characters better in order to make my writing stronger. But if I get this thing down, it'll kind of freak me out.
In the meantime, I feel really weird.
It's OKAY for a girl to write through a guy. But when a guy writes a girl? That's kind of weird. I want to find a balance of bringing a girl to life and not embarrassing myself, if you know what I'm saying.
And I'm pretty sure you do.
ANYWAY
I'M EXCITED FOR THANKSGIVING!
It's not the food I'm looking forward to. It's the chance to have fun with my family back in PA! WOOOO.
Note: I realize WOO isn't professional, but I don't really care. I'm that excited to get home.
Note on note: I'm not trying to be professional on a blog, but you know what I mean.
Note on note on note: I don't have anything else to say, but I'm loving this note idea.

Basically, that's my life right now. Comment. Dislike. Do anything so I know you're reading.
